Review :Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeshadow Duo in Lilac Lolita

Wednesday, April 23, 2014
Summer is right here and its time to take out your breezy outfits in soft and pastel colors. I love wearing pastels in summer and this is the one reason that i picked  Maybelline eyestudio eyeshadow duo in lilac lolita last summer. Due to my pregnancy and then looking after a newborn baby, i could not use it before. It was there in my stash until noticed it few days back. I have used it few times and its already a winner for me. Lets see why it won my heart.
Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeshadow Duo in Lilac Lolita
Packaging:
It comes in a square plastic case with transparent lid. No mirror or applicator brush is present. I liked that the packaging is travel friendly and fits any of my makeup bags easily. Its a limited edition shade and called as Lilac Lolita 50.

 My Experience:
I really likeits name. Its very feminine. Lolita reminds me of an epic lovestory. It has two shades of baked eyeshadows. One is pale lilac which appears to be pearl white in these swatches. It works as a highlighter for me. The other one is marbelized one with lavender and grey texture. Both have satin finish. The formula is very silky to touch and fall out is minimal.  You can mix and match both shades to get what you desire. I like wearing pastels alot during summers and this is one reason that i love it too much. Color pay off is good and blends without much effort. They lasts for a good 4 to 5 hours on my eyes without any primer. You can also increase color intensity and weartime by using a eyeshadow primer before. Here is the swatch below:

Overall, its a good product by maybelline. I would love to buy few more shades of this range. I bought it for Rs.700 from local market.

Do you own any of the maybelline eyestudio eyeshadow duo ? What colors do you wear during summers ? Please share your experiences with me.

EOTD , Review & Swatches : k-palette shiny star eyes berry star eyeshadow !!

Thursday, December 1, 2011
Hey girls , What is under spotlight today ? It is k-palette shiny star eyes eyeshadow quad in Berry star.

Brand :
K-palette is a japenese cosmetic brand which produces quality products , their products are among the best selling products in Asia.

Product Description :
An eye colour palette with excellent texture and graduating tones to create different looks – metallic, smoky, luscious. Mix and highlight to bring out the contour of the eyes for a fascinating effect

Packaging :
The packaging is very sturdy and compact. It does not contain any mirror inside , it means you have to carry separate mirror , in case you are travelling.

On backside , everything is written in Japanese. anyone translate it for me please !!!
 Applicator :
Its sponge tip applicator is one of its kind. One side is a regular applicator and the other side is a flat pointy applicator , which makes it easy to apply under lower lashes or tear duct. I have never seen such kind of applicator in any eyeshadow palette like this .

My thoughts :
I was looking for a mauve eyeshadow palette for everyday wear. This palette have 3 shades of mauve in it. First one is a bright lilac shade with blue undertones. The second one is a dull mauve shade with grey undertones. Third shade is a dark mauve shade and is  the darkest among them and have black grey undertones. All of them have a silky , creamy texture. The color pay off is excellent .A single wipe is needed for perfect application and it stays put on for a good 5 to 6 hours without eyeshadow base. They does not contain glitters , which makes it more wearable during daytime.
The highlighter shade is a pearl white color and  has a frosty finish . it is the most chalky among the four.

Here is a swatch of all of these on my hand :
EOTD :

I have created a simple everyday look using this eyeshadow quad :
  Other products used :

K-palette real lasting eyeliner in very black ( review coming soon )
Rimmel lash acceletor mascara in black
Maybelline mineral healthy smooth concealer ( review here )
Diana of london super longwear eyeliner pencil in black ( review here )

Over all , it is a great product. It makes me want to try more of Japanese products.

You can buy this product HERE at Beautycarousel.com . This eyeshadow quad is available in different color combinations.

monavé Mineral Cosmetics : Review & Swatches

Monday, August 15, 2011
Hey girls ,

Happy Independence Day to all my Pakistani fans and followers. I wanted to do a Independence day NOTD post but could not because my system got infected by a malware. I just hope that it will be fine in a couple of days .. ( please pray for it )
Few days back i received few samples from Monave Mineral Cosmetics to review on my blog. They asked me to select few shades from their range of cosmetics and then they send samples in sifter jars .let me introduce Monavé mineral cosmetics to you :

Monavé Mineral Cosmetics:

According to their website :
Mineral Makeup by Monavé is makeup that you can trust. Full ingredient disclosure reveals a product line based in whole, organic botanical ingredients, and completely gluten-free formulas that are 95% vegan. Monavé has never engaged in animal testing, and chooses the highest quality mineral makeup ingredients, not simply for the press, but for the health and performance of the products. As always, all products are free of paraben preservatives, dyes, and bismuth oxychloride. Monave Mineral Makeup also believes that all women deserve high quality, natural makeup, so Monavé has a wide array of shades for all complexions, lifestyles and ages.
 Loose Mineral Foundations :

Product Description:

Monave loose mineral makeup foundation is extremely versatile, and can be applied dry with a flat-top foundation brush or mixed with a facial moisturizer for sensitive or dry skin. Our mineral foundation has complete coverage and full spectrum sunscreen, and oil control properties. No separate concealer or powder is needed in most cases.

My thoughts :

I was  asked to select two shades of  loose mineral foundations. I selected Shade Sandra and tan girl . Sandra is the closest match for my complexion , however tan girl is a bit darker and has yellow undertones. The Loose mineral foundations are very fine texture and has matte finish and they blends easily, it gives natural coverage. I applied this using my F80 flat top kabuki brush. and it is easy to apply too. You can also mix it with your favorite moisturizer or toner to achieve more natural look. Lasting power is adequate , i needed to re apply it after 4 hours.
I got few compliments from my fellows when i applied this for the first time . My friends asked me that what i have applied to my face . Nobody could guess that i am wearing any foundation.
here is a swatch of these mineral foundations on my hand :

shade : tan girl : loose mineral foundation

shade: sandra , loose mineral foundation

:
Setting Powder:
Monave setting powders are a silky blend of the lightest minerals with just a touch of clay. Applied after foundation, the powders will aid in oil absorption, as well as add a smooth, matte, "finished" touch to your look. These powders can also be used as "face powders" for women who need very light coverage, used in place of foundation.

My thoughts :

I selected shade Tawny for myself. It is a perfect match for me . it gives a no shine look when applied after foundation. It also sets your makeup , i used it with my kryolan tv stick and got the perfect results , i am very impressed with its performance. It absorbs extra oil from your face. It looks natural and does not leaves a whitish cast on your face . Most important thing is , it is made my mineral ingredients. Here is a swatch of this on my hand :

shade : tawny
Monave Mineral Blush & Eye shadows :

I selected Monave blush in shade star lilly , it has semi - matte finish with micro sparkles in it . It is a warm pink shade with lilac under tones and looks great on my warm complexion. The micro sparkles looks great when applied and gives a soft look both in day or night time . It blends easily , and needs a light hand to apply. It stays put on for atleast 5 hours in my case without fading.
I also selected two Monave mineral versatile powders in Turquoise  and Light Gold. Turquoise is a beautiful true turquoise shade with subtle gold shimmer . The color can be build up according to your need. But staying power is adequate. It starts fading after few hours when applied without any eyeshadow base. Light Gold is my favorite shade it is a neutral shade of Gold , which does not look too yellow or orange , it also has micro specks in it which looks beautiful . This particular shade does not last longer on my eyes.
I also received Monave Semi- matte eyeshadow in Tierra Medium. It is a great shade for day time makeup and staying power is good too . I also used it for contouring my nose and it did well in that way too/ Here is a swatch of all these on my hands :

(Left to Right ) : Turquoise, Light gold, Star Lilly, Tierra Medium

What i like most about these cosmetics that you can also order sample products if you are not sure what color will suits you best. You can visit Monave Mineral Cosmetics here. They ships worldwide.

Friday, June 17, 2011

Hey my sugar plums , happy friday to all of you , if you are connected to me on my Facebook page , you have read about my recent visit to Imtiaz Super store (nazimabad near AO clinic ) . I went there with my cousin sisters for the first time  and i was delighted to see their cosmetics section. They have Counters of different Cosmetics Brands both local and international too. like Rimmel, MGM , Diana of london , Sweet touch , Christine, Golden Rose etc. The SA was very trained and helpful. I did not go there to buy anything then i changed my mind and these things came back with me :)

  • Rimmel Soft color blush in Pink Sugar 101 - Price Rs. 460
  • Christine Single eyeshadow - Rs. 50
  • Diana of london super long wear eyeliner in blackest black - Rs. 360

I was looking for a everyday blush and at rimmel counter i swatched different blushers on my cheeks and found this one the most natural looking blush.
loved the rimmel logo embossed on it

I also swatched a few christine eyeshadows there . I was looking for a satin finish Khaki eyeshadow to wear on my eyes . Thats why i bought this :

It does not contain any sparkles or glitter in it . And when applied wet it lasted on my eyes for good 4 to 5 hours. its cheap too only 50 Rs.

I have used this eyeliner pencil before and i love how easily it glides on and stay put on eyes. My dazzmatazz eyepencil was almost finished now ..thats why i picked up this one ...i have not used it until now ..i will do a post on it .very soon

Thats all for today ..you girls enjoy your weekend ...and share your shopping experiences with me :)

Review: Sweet Touch Sparkling Dust

Tuesday, March 29, 2011
Hey gals !! Today i am going to review my most favorite sparkling dust eyeshadow by Sweet touch . Sweet Touch Cosmetics is getting popular day by day among Pakistani girls as they offer a variety of shades to choose  from. Few Months back i went to Chase departmental store, i was testing and checking  some products around as usual and then i came across this little pot of eye shadow.

It was available in three to four different shades like brown , bronze and pink . But i liked this particular shade alot. i swatched it , and i instantly fallen in love with the well pigmented color and two toned color of this sparkling dust. It has two tones pink and gold, and  i simply love it .

its a loose pigment thats why it is multi purpose. i use it as an eyeshadow, highlighter and sometimes i just dust it over my blush on to gives an extra shimmery look , Trust me, its a very beautiful color and gives best results :)
Heres a swatch of this Sparkling dust :

You can use it both dry and wet . I prefer it wet when using as an eyeshadow as it lasts longer that way :)

I bought this for Rs. 200 pkr ( single pot ) from chase departmental store .

What i like about it ?
gorgeous color, well pigmented, long lasting , multi purpose, affordable price tag, easily available.

what i do not like about it ?
well the colour should be more long lasting with out any eye shadow base :)

Have you ever tried this sparkling dust ? Share your experiences

Signing off,
Jeeya
