Essence Kajal Pencil In Black - Review & Swatches

Hi, I love to apply kohl in my eyes, that is why I need to buy a new kohl pencil every few months. Sometimes I just try and swatch different kohl pencils at make up counters. It was same moment when I swatched Essence Kajal Pencil during my eid shopping trip and bought it there. Today I am reviewing it for my lovely readers. Lets see what I have to say about this.

What Essence Claims:

crazy color! the essence kajal pencil creates fashionable color highlights on your eyes in cool and trendy colors to ensure a totally individual style

. Ingredients:

HYDROGENATED COCONUT OIL, HYDROGENATED PALM KERNEL GLYCERIDES, TALC, CERA MICROCRISTALLINA (MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX), HYDROGENATED PALM GLYCERIDES, MYRISTYL MYRISTATE, RHUS SUCCEDANEA FRUIT WAX, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, HYDROGENATED COCO-GLYCERIDES, CETYL PALMITATE, CARNAUBA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA) WAX, HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, SORBITAN PALMITATE, STEARALKONIUM HECTORITE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, TOCOPHEROL, LECITHIN, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, GLYCERYL STEARATE, GLYCERYL OLEATE, CITRIC ACID, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77510 (FERRIC AMMONIUM FERROCYANIDE).

My Thoughts:
There is nothing fancy about the packaging, Simple black pencil with silver cap. No sharpener or smudger attached. It has a rich black color. Color pay off is good and only one swipe is needed to draw a neat line around your eyes. The formula is creamy and helps it to apply easily. But on the dark side, it also smudges in no time and may give you raccoon eyes, so beware. Staying power is also bad. Just stay on my water line for 2 hours and then starts to fade away. I will recommend to apply a good eye shadow primer before applying it to increase its staying power. Its inexpensive too, I only bought it for Rs. 175.

 So basically you got what you pay for. Its not a winner when it comes to staying power but it gives rich black color and glides smoothly. That's what I concluded. I would not repurchase it for sure. Will try some other eye liner pencil next time.

Review : Diana of London Super Long wear Eyeliner Pencil

Hey girls , I told you earlier that i am addicted to eye liner pencils and kohl ... :) I am back again with yet another review of an eye liner which is called Diana of London Super long wear Eye liner pencil in blackest black.

Diana of London is a Pakistani cosmetics brand which offers a wide range of good quality products at affordable prices. i am very impressed with their range of cosmetics. It is a brand which lies under Max care cosmetics. The same company which also owns Dazz matazz and DMGM cosmetics.

Diana of london claims that : 

Soft & Smooth Waterproof Eyeliner pencil which gives a finishing touch to your eye make-up all day long. Available in three shades : blackest black , blue . grey.

My thoughts :


This is my second purchase of this eyeliner pencil . I bought this for Rs. 360 Pkr. It glides on smoothly as an eyeliner and inside eye as a kohl pencil . I use it mostly as a kohl pencil because it has UV filters and vitamin E in it and it is ophthalmologically tested too. It provides intense black color. The product claims that it is water proof , but actually it is not . It smudges too ( if you use it as a kohl pencil ) , but i think it is okay because i live in the part of the world where weather is hot & humid mostly and my eye lids are oily too. Over all it is an average eye liner product.
Here is a swatch of this eye liner pencil , i used it on both upper and lower lash lines in this look :

Jumping towards pros and cons :

Pros :

• color intensity
• creamy texture
• affordable price tag
• easily available in Pakistan
• ophthalmologically tested
• contains UV filters and Vitamin E

Cons:

• smudges when used as kohl pencil
• not water proof

My recommendation :


If you are looking for a basic eye liner pencil then it is for you , i would recommend Dazzmatazz Define n Design eye liner pencil instead of it ( same price tag but stays put on longer)
