Blog Fest 2012 by piCture pOlish : Dorothy & Illusion , Review & Swatches

Hi girls , Today we are celeberating blog fest 2012 by piCture pOlish . Last year i was given a chance to swatch shade Tango ( post here ) . It was a fun filled activity. This year i was given a chance to swatch two of their new shades Dorothy and Illusion. 

Dorothy is a new addition to their mesh collection, Created for the land of Oz , and i believe it is the most unique and flattering shade so far inspired by the Dorothy.

I just love it so much. It reminds me of a newly wed bride or a beautiful decorated christmas tree. It is such an happy and festive shade. It is a cherry red color filled with lots of silver glitter particles . The glitter particles are so dense that i just need to apply two coats for full coverage. It feels a bit gritty when dried . but a top shine coat would help to make it smoother. Here i applied two coats of dorothy without any top coat, just to give you true picture. Isnt it beautiful itself ?

Its drying time is a bit longer than my usual glitter shades. but i am happy with it because all good things take a bit longer to do !!

Like all other glitter polishes , it is really hard to remove it too. You have to rub really hard or use the foil method to completely remove it . Otherwise it will create a big mess.

Mirage is a part of their Bloggers Collaborations and it was created with Sara Hassan of Sarahassan's blog . The moment i saw this nail color , my heart filled with great pride and love as Sara belongs to Pakistan and i adore her as my mentor in blogosphere..

Mirage is such a unique shade . its a duochrome shade which looks different in different lighting conditions. I have applied Picture Polish's Marine color as a base coat. as it is recommended to apply a darker color base coat first. It looks teal from certain angle which changes into steal and then plum in certain areas. You can experiment alot with this nail color by applying different base coats. It is very pretty and unique, you should trust me on this.

The consistency of Mirage is sheerer to other nail colors. That is why it is easily layered over another nail color. I love the way it looks on my nails under sun light.

Both nails colors lasts on my nails for good 3-4 days without any chip off, which is really impressive. However , i observed that the lasting time of Mirage is lesser than Dorothy.

NOTD : Dotty Dots nail art !!

Hey girls , i hope that you all will be enjoying holidays at the moment. Today i am going to share an easy way to decorate your nails at home. I am aware of this fact that most of the girls here in Pakistan are unable to go to expensive nail salons and get a nail art for them. I have used a simple technique here , which you all can try at home . Lets take a look :

I am loving the effect i got in the end , it is very funky and cute . What do you say ?

Black is my favorite nail color in winter and this is the easiest way to jazz up a black nail polish.


DIY at home :
start applying a base coat on your nails and let it completely dry . Apply a base color. I applied two coats of Glamorous Faces Black nail color here. let it dry completely otherwise you will get it ruin. Pour one or two drops of desired nail color on a plastic sheet and pick it up using a tooth pick. Apply dots randomly all over your nails . You are free to choose any color and size of dots according to your choice.
I used 4 different nail colors for dots here :

1. Picture Polish Nail color in Tango
2. Aqua Nail color in Blue
3. Nailtiques nail color in Red 
4. Christine nail color in Silver

Finish off using a top coat. Here is the final result :

piCture pOlish blog fest : Tango

Hello my sugar plums ,

i have given an opportunity by piCture pOlish to celebrate blog fest today. I am wearing piCture pOlish's Tango on my nails . It is peachy coral shade. It looks great on my nails and i think it will looks great on all complexions . I think it is a great shade to wear in all seasons. I am absolutely loving its creme finish , It goes opaque in just two coats .

 I did not apply any top coat on it . I felt that it does not need one as it applies smoothly .

What i love most about this nail color that it lasts for more than 4 days on my nails without color fading and any tips off. That is a major plus for me !!
