In certain parts of this world this transition age is celebrated and marks as a girl's 15th birthday as Quinceanera Event. I am always keen to know different traditions, lets find out together what exactly this tradition is all about.

 

What is Quinceanera ?

 It is the celebration of a girl's fifteenth birthday in parts of Latin America and elsewhere in communities of people from Latin America. This birthday is celebrated differently from any other as it marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood.^[1] The celebration, however, varies significantly across countries, with celebrations in some countries taking on, for example, more religious overtones than in others.  How it is celebrated?

 

Celebrations begins with the arrival of the teenager, wearing a special dress, and generally accompanied by her father. The location, if indoors, commonly has its entrance specially adorned for the occasion. The father and daughter make their entry through this front-door entrance to the sound of music while friends and relatives customarily give the father flowers (usually roses). After this the ceremony of the waltz begins in which the girl dances with all her friends and relatives.

 I wish if this tradition was celebrated in our part of the world. I would have been selected any of the mentioned dresses for myself. But unfortunately, this tradition is not yet celebrated in my country. But dressing up does not need any occasion, Right? who knows someday I would be able to get one dress for me and then dress up like a queen and take a lot of photographs as a memory.
